Mission Statement

The Beloved Community is a community-betterment organization that makes positive and meaningful changes in local communities by providing volunteers with opportunities to educate and sustainably improve their communities. Our mission is inspired by MLK’s Beloved Community; to create a world that is more socially and economically just. We provide value to local communities around the world by taking a dynamic and hands-on approach towards advancing human connection and inclusivity. We strive to uplift the underdeveloped sectors of the world and empower humanity to build a better world for all.

At The Beloved Community, we believe in taking action and making meaningful changes in our local communities. Through a range of volunteer activities such as garbage cleanups, charity fundraisers, and socials, we provide opportunities for our members to actively improve and educate their communities.

As members of The Beloved Community, we uphold a set of core values that guide our actions and shape our interactions:

  1. Inclusivity: We believe in embracing diversity and creating a space where everyone feels welcome and valued.
  2. Praxis: We strive to bridge the gap between theory and practice, actively applying our knowledge to make a tangible impact.
  3. Open-mindedness: We encourage open dialogue, respect different perspectives, and foster an environment of learning and growth.
  4. Peace: We promote non-violence, harmony, and peaceful resolutions in our interactions and within our communities.
  5. Fairness: We advocate for fairness and equity, working towards dismantling systemic barriers that hinder progress and justice.
  6. Social justice: We stand for equality, advocate for marginalized communities, and work towards a society that is just and inclusive for all.
  7. Human connections: We recognize the power of building meaningful relationships and connections, fostering a sense of belonging and empathy within our community.
