Mission Statement

Buffalo String Works' mission is to ignite personal and community leadership through accessible, youth-centered music education.

Description

Founded on the West Side 10 years ago, Buffalo String Works provides free rigorous music instruction and a creative home for refugee, immigrant, and historically marginalized youth. We recognize the significance of music as a universal language, and by lifting up the voices of our students and parents, we cultivate youth to be agents of social change.

In September 2023, we will be in our second year at Buffalo’s East Side at NativityMiguel Middle School and our first year at Primary Hall Charter School. We will serve 200 students across Buffalo and are eager to continue working towards our vision of: Neighborhoods United by Empowered Young Musicians.
