Mission Statement
The success of this program is based on community partnerships with employers, volunteers, landlords, school districts, donors, and community-based organizations. We depend on our community to assist in the successful resettlement of refugees, which is self-sufficiency. Volunteers are at the core of welcoming refugee families and helping them feel at home in Tulsa from mentoring newly arrived families, to running in-kind donation drives for a specific family due to arrive, to teaching English and work skills in the classroom - volunteers make resettlement possible at every level. To individual refugees and refugee families, volunteers make a life-changing impact. Join us to welcome and help refugees become self-sufficient in Tulsa.
Description
Over the past five years, we have worked directly with refugees running ESL and Citizenship Classes for refugees in the Tulsa area. As of October 2021, we are an official Resettlement and Placement office servicing the needs of refugee arrivals during their first months in Tulsa. These programs and services assist refugees in becoming engaged U.S. citizens. We work closely with them to ensure that each individual achieves independence and is a productive member of our society. We help refugees resettle here safely, learn English, gain employment and become valued, contributing members of our community.
