Sleep Sweet Junebug, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our mission is to provide low and no cost doula services and perinatal mental health and grief counseling to parents and families who have been impacted by the loss of a pregnancy or infant and to educate perinatal professionals, the community, and organizations about such support. Our vision is for parents and families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss are supported through their healing journey.
In 2020, 1,026 families in DC, Maryland, and Virginia experienced the death of a child who had not reached their first birthday. It is estimated that as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Oftentimes, these families do not have the professional support or resources to navigate the devastating experience of pregnancy and infant loss.
Through pregnancy and infant loss (PAIL) doula services, perinatal loss mental health support, community education, professional certification, resource referrals, and memorial grants, Sleep Sweet Junebug, Inc. will be able to carry out its mission and vision.
As a start-up organization, Sleep Sweet Junebug, Inc. is looking for volunteers to support our social media and fundraising campaigns, establish programming business processes, maternal health and mental health advocacy and engagement, and other administrative tasks.
