Mission Statement

The Beach Flats Community Center & Familia Center are now known as Nueva Vista Community Resources. Here, our compassionate staff build a warm, friendly, safe place for the Santa Cruz community to access resources that offer stability and hope for the future. Nueva Vista Community Resources is part of the Community Bridges family of programs. We expand community access to recreation activities, academic empowerment and positive youth development. We offer neighborhood meetings, preschool classes, after school programming, parent education classes, and cultural events that promote community safety, wellness and pride. Volunteers play a key role in delivering our youth empowerment services as tutors and mentors with our after school homework support program, IMAGINE. Volunteers also participate in community events and season projects, including our annual Thanksgiving Meal with all the turkey trimmings.
