Mission Statement
Our Mission The mission of the QRU Nonprofit Organization is to create awareness of the need for support and unite Southern Idaho in support of and funding of all our rural emergency responders organizations. The majority of these men and women work on a volunteer basis while purchasing many of their much needed supplies and training using their own personal funds. They use their own vehicles a lot of the time and leave their "day jobs" to respond to emergencies as they arise. The QRU teams are the first line of response to many of our outdoor enthusiast activity areas and are oftentimes behind the scenes of appreciation. Injuries or accidents suffered by outdoor enthusiasts and travelers on rural highways and roads often occur in areas far from a local hospital and emergency services. Without these units being available in rural areas, response from an emergency team could take over an hour or more.
Description
The annual QRU fundraiser was organized in an effort to create awareness of what and who the local Quick Response Units are. It began in 2008 and has grown steadily every year with the continued support of area businesses and people in the community. With growth over the years, we have become so much more than an annual event and have branched to support all Southern Idaho rural Emergency Responders.
We are advocates for the cause as a 501c3 organization. Our board works hard year-round on additional fundraising opportunities such as grants, vendor space at community events, selling logo merchandise, and more.
Our Vision
The vision of the QRU Nonprofit Organization is to help those who answer the call. If or
when you need to call 911, we want to ensure that there is someone who answers and
has the training, equipment, and support to answer the call and provide life saving
measures. We will pursue our vision through fundraising, educating, and bringing
awareness to the community of the needs of the rural emergency responder
organizations.
