The Open Book Project

Description

The Open Book Project is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to raise literacy awareness while inspiring and nurturing the love of reading across the Upstate of South Carolina. Our organization was formed to continue the efforts of the Pickens County Literacy Association which had been in place for over 50 years. PCLA disbanded on 12/31/22 and on 1/9/23 The Open Book Project was established. The Open Book Project has broadened its reach to include other Upstate counties like Oconee, Anderson, and Greenville in addition to Pickens County.

Our fundraising efforts will benefit literacy needs in our communities through our lottery box of giving program. We encourage individuals or groups to submit a form for specific literacy needs for the classroom, school, and/or literacy based civic organization.
