Communications Writer

About Us: Women for Conservation is a grassroots nonprofit that empowers women to protect biodiversity in most threatened ecosystems. Our work is rooted in the belief that conservation and gender equity go hand-in-hand. We support women-led conservation initiatives on the frontlines of environmental protection, particularly in Colombia-one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. Our impact reaches globally through awareness, advocacy, and collaboration with international partners. Position Overview: We seek a passionate and creative Volunteer Communications Writer to help share the powerful stories of women protecting wildlife and habitats. The writer will support our global communications efforts by crafting compelling content for blogs, newsletters, social media, fundraising campaigns, and donor reports. This role is perfect for someone who wants to combine storytelling, conservation, and women's empowerment-while amplifying local voices for international audiences. Language Requirements: Native English speaker; Spanish (basic conversational preferred) Key Responsibilities: Write and edit stories about our conservation work and the women leading these efforts Develop blog posts, newsletters, and social media content to reach our global audience Assist with grant storytelling, and campaign messaging Conduct interviews (virtually or in-person) with community members and staff Help maintain a consistent and inspiring voice across platforms Qualifications: Native English speaker with excellent writing and storytelling skills Background or interest in conservation, gender equity, or international development Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Familiarity with nonprofit communications is a plus Spanish proficiency is an asset but not required What You’ll Gain: Experience working with a global nonprofit creating real change in Colombia Opportunity to support women’s leadership in conservation A portfolio of published writing with international reach A deeper understanding of grassroots conservation and cross-cultural storytelling To Apply: Please send your CV, a short writing sample, and a brief note on why you're interested to info@womenforconservation.org

Fundraising Volunteer

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and creative Fundraising Volunteer to support our global fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone passionate about conservation and women’s rights, with an interest in nonprofit development, donor engagement, and campaign strategy. You'll help us raise vital funds to expand our programs, protect endangered species, and empower more women on the frontlines of conservation in the Global South. Key Responsibilities: Research potential funding sources including grants, foundations, and corporate sponsors Assist in developing and writing grant applications and fundraising proposals Support donor outreach and stewardship activities Help plan and promote online fundraising campaigns (e.g. Giving Tuesday, crowdfunding) Contribute ideas and content for donor communications and fundraising materials Track progress and help report on fundraising outcomes Qualifications: Passion for environmental conservation and women’s empowerment Strong research and writing skills Experience or interest in fundraising, nonprofit development, or grant writing Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently Native in English; Spanish is a plus Familiarity with platforms like Kickstarter, GoFundMe, or GlobalGiving is helpful What You’ll Gain: Hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor communications The chance to make a real impact on conservation and gender equity in Colombia Exposure to global fundraising strategies and platforms A meaningful volunteer experience with an international network of change-makers
