Mission Statement
HeartSupport is a non-profit organization using music to start mental health conversations with people who otherwise would not seek help. Created by Grammy-Nominated musician, Jake Luhrs, we help people brave their wounds, find purpose, and discover healing in the fight for mental health.
Description
Our focus is to get people talking about their mental health because unvoiced problems can’t be solved. We do it by creating safe spaces:
- On Our Forum (forum.heartsupport.com)
People on our anonymous forum, the Support Wall , can ask for support for their mental health struggles, and our repliers and reply teams ensure everyone gets replies.
- In Our Peer Support Programs
- Support Wall Action Teams: Heartsupport’s online groups of volunteers. They meet on Discord to listen and write encouraging messages to people who ask for help on our anonymous forum. More info at https://www.heartsupport.com/swat
- BTS Mentorship: a year-round online mentorship program to all genders and locations around the world for anyone over 18. More info at: https://www.heartsupport.com/about-bts
- On Social Media
We built tech that turns our social media into a mental health resource. Our followers can ask for help in our comments, and our tech connects our repliers to support them. All replies from the Support Wall get sent back to the follower who asked for support on social media.
