Mission Statement

The ParkinsonLife Corporation has been created to serve, support, and unify the Tampa Bay Parkinson’s Community including Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. This is accomplished through Lifestyle, Information, Fitness and Empowerment by engagement in exercise, education, and socialization.

Description

We provide several programs. Our general Parkinson's exercise classes are open to people with Parkinson's of all ability levels, and incorporate evidence based exercises including cardiovascular, balance, dual tasking, dancing, fine motor, and cognitive exercises. We currently host classes in two locations. One class is held two days per week at the Barksdale Senior Center in Tampa, FL. The other is hosted at the Omar K. Lightfoot Senior Center in Temple Terrace, FL

Our high octane classes for the young onset Parkinson's Disease community are held 4 times per week in Tampa.

We host educational lunches and support group meetings for People with Parkinson's and their care partners once per month, and retreats and social events throughout the year.
