Gentiva Hospice is expanding into Ingham County and I will have some volunteer opportunities to visits seniors on Hospice care. Some patients will be in their own home and others are in a facility. Volunteers are able to connect with Seniors by making friendly visits. People love company. Activities may include conversation, watching TV, reading, listening to music, crafts, card games and puzzles. Sometimes just being present is all that is needed. This is a time where volunteers are able to devote time to them that is strictly devoted to what they would like to do. once the requirements are met the volunteers schedule is 100% flexible to the time they have available. Requirements include the following and are all paid for by Gentiva Hospice. 1. Background Check 2. Finger Printing 3. 2 step TB test 4. Drug test (minus marijuana) 5. Paperwork and training I will meet with the Volunteer and help with all of the above to make sure they feel comfortable and prepared for this new adventure. Visits take place in patients' own homes, as well as nursing homes and, assisted living, Volunteers are asked to provide companionship to our patients, which can include reading to them, looking through magazines or cookbooks, watching movies or sports, playing music, visiting with a pet, or simply chatting and holding a hand. Our volunteers do not provide any hands-on physical care to our patients. Our hospice volunteers have shared that they find their work to be personally gratifying and meaningful, and we hope that you will share in this experience. Our main office is located in Jackson, Michigan but we serve 5 different counties.

Gentiva Hospice has patients in Coldwater facilities that would love to have volunteers to spend time with. Being a volunteer for hospice requires no hands on care. You are there strictly for enjoyment. Seniors look forward to do things with or just talk. This is a great opportunity for anyone over the age of18. From College Students to Senior Citizens.

I am looking for a few veterans that would like to join our team at Gentiva Hospice. We help honor veterans that are now on Hospice. This is a great way to give back with a presentation, certificate, creeds and military pins. The ceremony can be whatever the patient wants. Some of very small and intimate with just 1 or 2 family members, some are a bit larger with family and others are done in facilities as an open invitation and bigger crowd. Myself and other veteran volunteers can help familiarize you with everything you need to Honor our Veterans. Our main office is in Jackson Michigan however we cover all the surrounding counties.

Gentiva Hospice is expanding into Ingham county and I am looking for volunteers that would like to make friendly visits to our patients. The visits can either be in the person's own home or in a facility. They are no hands on care. You will be there 100% for enjoyment. Some examples of visits may include but not limited to conversations, activities, watching TV, reading, crafts, card games, listening to music and puzzles. People love volunteers because the focus is on them and doing what they like to do. Patients love to have visitors. Requirements to be a volunteer have to be completed to satisfy Medicare, Nursing homes and Hospice guidelines. I help you with all of it to make it as simple as possible. They include 1. Background check 2. Fingerprints 3. Drug screening (minus marijuana) 4. Paperwork 5. 2 step TB test All of this only has to be done once and is paid for by our company. Once you are ready the schedule is 100% flexible to you. Even if you can only volunteer once a month it is truly appreciated. I am also very flexible to what works for you.
