Description

Make a meaningful difference in a child's life by becoming a mentor and helping them overcome reading challenges. Join the YMCA of Collier County YREADS program and discover how you can get involved. By dedicating just a few hours per week, you can make a profound impact on a child's literacy journey. As a YREADS mentor, you'll have the opportunity to work with students in small groups or individually, fostering their self-confidence and enhancing their academic abilities. Be a tutor and a friend, empowering children to unlock a brighter future.

The children in this community LOVE having volunteers tutor them in reading. We also play games, provide crayons and markers for coloring, and supervise playground time. Many of the little ones are bilingual, and it is so heartwarming to help them learn to write, spell and read.
