Solace Friends, Inc. (Solace) is a 501C3 non-profit organization working to bridge the existing gap in services by creating a home for underserved individuals to receive housing and personal attention that nurtures physical comfort, emotional and spiritual wholeness, and individual dignity as they die. Support is provided by a network of paid staff and volunteer surrogate family caregivers who work collaboratively with clinical professionals from local hospice organizations and other healthcare and social service agencies.
Solace staff and volunteers supplement the clinical care services which will be provided by area hospice organizations. Solace Home is not a hospice provider. Our role is to provide the care that is typically provided by family and friends in a home setting.
At Solace Home, we work to not just meet basic human needs, but to provide comprehensive, loving, person-centered care that nurtures all through supporting bodily comfort, emotional, social, and spiritual wholeness and individual dignity. The Solace program is designed to be both comprehensive and expansive, offering a full spectrum of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support, free of charge. Our home will shelter as many as four individuals at a time, each with their own private room, for as long as needed-whether it be days or months-according to their own individual needs and preferences, as long as they remain hospice eligible.
