B THE LIGHT

Description

Our purpose is to minister to people in need, regardless of age, race, gender, or religion by providing a safe shelter for those who need immediate help and solutions to their predicament. Our organization begins by assessing immediate problems, providing meals, identifying special concerns, long-term challenges and developing an action plan for next steps. Food and clothing will be provided connecting individuals with local partners who can provide such services. The goal is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by determining how each person can become a productive, well-trained, law-abiding citizen in this outstanding community.

B the Light Mission brings to the forefront a model of empowering the homeless to escape poverty and dependance on outside resources. It is not a new model; the challenge model of empowering is based on old and proven methods. We seek to reach those individuals that wish to make a change to their circumstances through challenging their current situation to build a better one. The mission's concept, we are modeling at B The Light is similar to successful models in other states like Watered Gardens Mission in Joplin, Missouri; Victory Mission in Springfield, Missouri. We seek to empower individuals to become all that God intended them to be.
