Mission Statement

The Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program is managed by the Facilities Development and Operations Department of Palm Beach County. The mission of the program is to provide art that complements public buildings, parks and plazas; creates a sense of place and enhances community identity; improves the design quality of public infrastructure; and contributes to the missions of the county departments where projects are sited. When Artists are part of Palm Beach County’s construction projects, our public spaces, buildings and streetscapes are enriched for all to enjoy. Inspired by The Palm Beaches’ natural beauty and diverse communities, the County’s "Public Art Places" reveal contemporary and historical local stories to create a distinct sense of place. Over forty individual professional art installations have been commissioned as part of County facility construction or enhancements, with more constantly in the works.
