We educate through facts, advocate using our research findings, and take action to implement change. HRRC is looking for a volunteer Fundraising & Development Coordinator to join the team. Given the nature of this role’s work, this position can be completed remotely. Who You Are: You are a champion for international human rights. You recognize the importance of funding HRRC’s work and value development strategies. You are a strong independent worker and effective team player who enjoys collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You know how to foster relationships. You have excellent interpersonal, writing, and communications skills, in addition to a sharp attention to detail. You are organized and enjoy crafting narratives. What You’ll Do: Assist HRRC’s management team in developing fundraising plans and securing new donors. Conduct outreach to prospective donors and execute stewardship strategies. Partner with Event Coordinator for scheduling and planning fundraising events. Develop and support social media and email fundraising campaigns, working in conjunction with HRRC’s social media team. Exceptional candidates will have experience in grassroots fundraising, donor management, and event planning. Compensation and Commitment This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of 2-4 hours of work per week. At least a six-month time commitment is required. Write and publicize in-depth analytical research reports, briefing papers, letters, news releases, op-eds, and other submissions. Create data visualizations, maps, infographics, presentations, and other content to convey research findings. Exceptional candidates will have experience with research methods and/or storytelling. This includes qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, and open-source research. Fluency in languages other than English is an asset. Compensation and Commitment This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of completing 1-2 projects per month. At least a six-month time commitment is required. What You’ll Do: Conduct legal and legislative research, reporting on human rights violations around the world. In partnership with HRRC’s Advocacy Coordinator(s) and management team, track legislation on a variety of core human rights issues and develop strategies for promoting awareness and creating change. Write and publicize in-depth analytical research reports, briefing papers, letters, news releases, op-eds, and/or submissions. Exceptional candidates will have an advanced degree in law and previous paid or unpaid experience conducting legal research in human rights, as well as experience with research methods. Fluency in languages other than English is an asset. Compensation and Commitment This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of completing 1-2 projects per month, depending on the scale of the legal project. Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans, goals, and objectives. Oversee program plans and tracking of progress and changes. Provide and communicate overall vision and direction for program. Manage and complete assigned work plan objectives and projects on a timely basis. Seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process. Provide guidance and role-modeling to all research analysts. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules. Exceptional candidates will have knowledge of research methods and experience in leading teams and in project or program management. Fluency in languages other than English is an asset. Partner with Fundraising & Development Coordinator(s) to coordinate and oversee all event operations and carefully supervise event preparation activities. Analyze and evaluate event’s results by creating and presenting reports to HRRC management. Exceptional candidates will have experience in event planning/coordination, hospitality, public relations, or in a similar field.
