Mission Statement

The Cedar Valley Angels mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.

Description

Cedar Valley Angels serves youth and families experiencing foster care through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. This is accomplished through our two 18-month programs - Love Box and Dare to Dream.

Love Box Leaders come alongside children and caretakers in foster care by offering consistent support through intentional giving and building relationships. Volunteers show up for a Foster family by providing a Love Box for an assigned foster family once a month. Additionally, volunteers build an impactful and intentional relationship with children in the home and foster parents. Love Box Leaders must be 18+, rooted in the community, pass a background check, have reliable transportation, a desire to build a relationship with children in foster care, and a coachable spirit. Volunteer positions are open to people with disabilities.

Dare to Dream Mentors come alongside youth in or aging out of Foster Care (ages 11-22) by providing intentional relational support at least 2 times a month. Volunteers work to build impactful and intentional relationships with their mentee through activities and shared experiences. The role is intended to provide a safe and positive role model to help youth prepare for life after Foster Care. Volunteers must be 22+, rooted in the community, pass a background check, have reliable transportation, a desire to build a relationship with children in foster care, and a coachable spirit. Volunteer positions are open to people with disabilities.
