Are you looking for an organization making a real difference in the lives of children in Fort Worth? Look no further than the Southside Hornets Athletic Association (SHAA). Established in the 1970s by fathers from the south, east, and poly communities, SHAA was founded in response to the threat of gang involvement and violence in the area. What began as a football program has since become a comprehensive youth enrichment program fully committed to keeping kids in sports, not the court.

At SHAA, our mission is clear: to provide a transformative, nurturing environment for children to develop critical thinking skills and build their character through athletic, academic, and life skills training. By empowering youth through athletics, mentoring, group coaching, counseling, tutoring, and life skills services, we can positively impact their lives. We serve children ages 4-12 from generational poverty backgrounds struggling with physical, social, emotional, and mental instabilities that negatively affect their behavior and academic development.
