Mission Statement

Our mission is to engage in programs and activities that will promote the cultural, social, literary, and mental welfare of our community youth and families.

Description

The Cove provides a safe place for connection and learning by engaging in programs and activities that support the well-being of our community youth and families. We began with working with refugees under resettlement organizations. We then had an ESL class for women, which we exchanged for an after-school program so we could work with children and their parents. During our after-school program we provide tutoring, physical activity, snacks, and other enrichment activities. We also host parenting classes, as well as helping refugees with applications for asylum, humanitarian parole, and Special Immigrant Visa's. We have partnered with the San Juan Unified School District in working with children (especially refugee children) and Carmichael HART in serving children in transition.
