Hospice Volunteer Activities Anyone Can Do Companionship Supportive Listening and Conversation Applying Holistic Therapies Reading or Other Activities of Interest Support with Life Review (reminiscing, sharing stories, pictures, etc.) Assistance with Documenting One’s Life Story Support with Audio or Video Taping of Treasured Messages for One’s Family Letter Writing Assisting the Patient with Projects, Errands Caregiver Respite Hospice volunteers can also assist in the administrative offices of Assisted Hospice Care. Volunteer Training All volunteers receive an initial orientation. Topics include: The History and Philosophy of Hospice The Process of Death and Dying An Overview of the Roles and Responsibilities of Each Member of the Hospice Team Methods of Offering Compassionate Care to the Terminally Ill Patient and Their Loved Ones

As an Aromatherapy & Hand Massage Assistant, you'll play a vital role in bringing calm and connection to individuals who may be facing illness, isolation, or stress. Your presence and care can make a profound difference. Key Responsibilities Offer gentle, respectful hand massages to clients/residents in a calm and soothing manner. Assist in the preparation and application of essential oils, following safety protocols and personal preferences. Create a serene, welcoming environment that promotes relaxation and dignity. Engage in compassionate conversation or quiet companionship as appropriate. Work under the guidance of staff to ensure comfort and appropriateness of services for each individual. Ideal Qualities A caring and empathetic nature with excellent interpersonal skills. Comfort with touch and a strong sense of personal and professional boundaries. Interest or experience in aromatherapy, massage therapy, or holistic care (training can be provided). Dependable, discreet, and sensitive to the emotional and physical needs of others. Throughout the years, the Assisted care team has offered high quality, compassionate home health, palliative care, hospice care, and caregiver services to patients and their loved ones. What You'll Do: Assist with data entry and file organization. Answer phone calls and emails, providing information and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff. Prepare and distribute supplies. Patient satisfaction calls. Chart audit & QI as directed. Contribute to maintaining a positive and welcoming office environment. What We're Looking For: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
