Join Fostering Wishes in our mission to address critical needs of foster children in our area. Fostering Wishes is entirely volunteer-driven, powered by individuals who share a deep passion for supporting foster children and using their unique skills to make a difference. While all roles are unpaid, the rewards come in the form of knowing you’re changing lives and bringing joy to foster children. We collaborate with foster agencies, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations to create meaningful, lasting impacts. Thank you for your interest in being part of our mission to bring hope and joy to foster children! Grant Writer Fostering Wishes is growing and so is our volunteer base. We are looking for someone to assist with finding funding opportunities and writing polished proposals to earn grant money. Their duties include researching deadlines, drafting grant requests and submitting reports for approval. Overview of Position: Research grant opportunities from various organizations and agencies Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of Fostering Wishes Submit proposals to leadership team for approval Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) is a plus Time commitment: The ideal volunteer will be available to not only meet the time commitments outlined below but will also communicate, without hesitation, if the scope of work exceeds the estimated time allotted. Open and honest communication will be essential to help us grow a successful and sustainable volunteer team and resources we need. Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours/week, depending on current opportunities, including monthly meetings and updating information on our Google Workspace. Marketing Manager We are looking for someone to assist with developing strategy, planning and supporting the delivery of our marketing activities. This role will also focus on external communications with partners and other stakeholders. Overview of Position: Produce/coordinate compelling communications to increase awareness around Fostering Wishes work for foster children and their plight within the Foster System Collaborate with leadership team regarding specific and consistent messaging priorities and campaign content that maximizes awareness, resources, partnerships, and opportunities Lead marketing and communications activities around all major events Partner with fundraising staff on fundraising scripts and donor communications Leverage Canva and other tools to promote events, organizing & advocacy opportunities, and share information with the community Prepare news releases, articles, and interview talking points to share information about Fostering Wishes with the public Familiarity with Canva and Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) is a plus Previous experience in a similar role with a non-profit is also a plus Time commitment: The ideal volunteer will be available to not only meet the time commitments outlined below but will also communicate, without hesitation, if the scope of work exceeds the estimated time allotted.
