Mission Statement
Serving People with a Mission seeks to provide people from all walks of life with the tools to become servant leaders in their communities; and for these same leaders to go into their communities and give back through service. SPM believes that walking hand-n-hand for and with others will truly contribute to the development of our future servant leaders.
Description
Serving People with a Mission is proud to run our Hand-n-Hand Leadership Program to help high school youth understand the importance of professionalism, mentorship, and community service; as well as our Giving People Donations Drive where we collect resources(clothes, food, hygiene products) and give people these basic living necessities if and when they need it.
In the Fall of 2021, Serving People with a Mission launched our pilot Hand-n-Hand Leadership Program at Farragut Career Academy High School in Little Village, and in Spring of 2022, we successfully graduated our first cohort of servant leaders. In addition, Fall of 2021 also saw the launch of our Giving People Service, where we partnered with Student Government Associations at 7 different 2-year colleges across Chicago to gather resources for the unsheltered and homeless.
Currently, Serving People with a Mission is carrying out our Hand-n-Hand Leadership program at Rauner College Prep in West Town. In addition, currently, Serving People with a Mission’s Giving People Service continues to serve homeless and unsheltered people of Chicago; clothing, food, hygiene, and other living necessity donations are currently being accepted.
