Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide clean drinking water to those in need, with a focus on Indigenous communities experiencing water crises.

Description

In 2019 a large section of the water main ruptured in Warm Springs initiating a declaration of emergency. Additionally, ongoing issues with a 40 year old water treatment facility, which eventually caught fire in 2022. The community of Warm Springs has been going from boil notice to boil notice, with intermittent times where the water is deemed safe, but the residents no longer trust water, and rightfully so.

The infrastructure and treatment facility will cost in the millions to repair. And while the federal government did allocate $27 million for repairs, the emergency water management team expects those repairs and replacements to take 1-2 years. That’s 1-2 more years that Warm Springs residents will be dealing with an ongoing water crisis.
