Mission Statement

Our mission (since 1985) is to bring quality of life to the seniors and homebound in our community. We do this through our programs such as Meals on Wheels, Senior Transportation, In-House meals, Health & Wellness Classes, education, and other resources and support groups. Our staff and volunteers are passionate about helping our seniors maintain dignity while aging. Through our programs, we help preserve their independence with integrity. Over the years we expanded our reach to not only include the Payson area, but Star Valley, Tonto Basin, Gisela, Rye, and Mesa Del communities. The Payson Senior Center is healthy and is continuing to grow reaching more seniors and homebound in need.

Description

Our last fiscal year we served 38,151 meals to our homebound via our Meals on Wheels program. We currently serve Meals on Wheels to 160 homebound. When we provide Meals on Wheels to our local homebound, it is much more than a hot and nutritious meal. For many, our drivers are the only people that they see and interact with.

We also served 7,232 lunches (In-House meals) at the Center. We anticipate these numbers increasing. We often have a waiting list for our In-House meals. In addition to the nutritious meal we provide activities such as exercise classes, health education, music, support groups and more.

Our last fiscal year we made 3,640 trips taking seniors to their medical appointments, pharmacy, grocery shopping, to our Center for social interaction, and many other places. We anticipate that we can provide an additional 624 trips a year with the Senior Express expansion of adding an additional driver. Our transportation service is vital in keeping our seniors and homebound independent with quality of life.
