Mission Statement

Abel's Dream Foundation is a non-profit organization that strives to provide families who have autistic children and other developmental disabilities with the resources and support they need to thrive, as well as provide grants for school, in-home expenses, and health expenses. Our mission is to provide adults with autism and disabilities with the job training, preparation, and placement they need to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Our foundation is focused on creating a safe and accepting community for children and teens to receive mental health services, be educated on the importance of mental help, and provide anti-bullying campaigns to help turn negative stigmas into positive ones. We are here to let families know, that they are not alone, have help, and that we will be there every step of the journey.

Description

My name is Desiree, and I am the Founder and CEO of Abel’s Dream Foundation. I started this organization last year when my son Abel was diagnosed with Autism, Combined ADHD, and Intellectual Disability, along with 3 different speech disorders, and body pains they have yet to find a cause for.

Although Abel’s Dream is just getting started, our key programs and goals would go as followed:

Provide families with resources, and childcare resources, and assist them with any application process. Provides a parents’ support group. Provide grants for medical bills, school, and/or things needed at home for therapy for their children. Create an after-school program, where meals can be provided and children within the spectrum can have a safe space, while a parent is still at work. Create a safe and accepting community for children and teens to come to receive mental health services that educate on the importance of mental help and provide an anti-bullying campaign to help turn negative situations into positive ones. Provide job training and placement for youth and adults within the spectrum. Create an affordable summer camp, where children and youth can come and play sports, and do recreational activities during summer while parents are at work.
