Mission Statement

Clackamas County employees work to serve the public and enrich our community. In that spirit, we pledge to hold ourselves to these standards at all times in our interactions with customers and with one another.

Description

Volunteer SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance) Counselors provide free, objective Medicare counseling to Medicare beneficiaries and those who are planning to enroll in Medicare. We also help Medicare beneficiaries find ways to lower their out-of-pocket medical costs, and provide Medicare fraud prevention education. SHIBA is a statewide program ( https://shiba.oregon.gov) and part of the national SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) network. Opportunities in Clackamas County include both virtual and in-person volunteer options. Days, times, and level of commitment is flexible.
