Mission Statement
Boomerang Theatre Company aims to bring audiences and artists together around great stories. Focusing on character and language-driven works, Boomerang consists of three core programs: free summer Shakespeare productions, premieres of new plays and dynamic new play development programs. The goal for the organization has always been to allow artists to show us their world.
Description
Since its founding in 1999, The Boomerang Theatre Company is proud to be one of the leaders in the Off-Off Broadway/Indie Theatre community. Our 2023 season marks our 25th Anniversary, during which time we have produced: 20 free Shakespeare projects in parks and venues throughout New York City, 14 World Premieres, 6 New York City Premieres, 30 productions directed by women, and 10 New York Innovative Theatre Award nominations resulting in 3 awards. We have served audiences totaling over 34,000 patrons.
