We're looking for a talented and conscientious volunteer board member to lead and strengthen our programs for children and youth in foster care. If you can contribute your time, thoughtfulness, and leadership for approximately 5 hours a week, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, email us your contact information to schedule a phone conversation. As Charlotte Angels continues to grow, more fundraising dollars will be needed to reach our goals. The Grant Writer will prepare grant applications and research grant opportunities in order to procure funds for operating expenses and specific projects/campaigns. Grant Writer Must be passionate about our mission! Must commit to one year of service as a board member. Must attend 75% of board meetings. EVENTS COORDINATOR: Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Do you have a knack for event planning and organization? Join the Charlotte Angels Events Committee and help us create memorable experiences for children in foster care and their families. Brief Description: * Collaborate with the Events Committee Chair and fellow members to brainstorm, plan and execute engaging events for children and families in foster care. * Assist in securing event venues, vendors, and sponsors as needed. * Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, set-up, and breakdown. * Help promote events through social media, email newsletters, and other channels to ensure maximum attendance and participation. * Participate in post-event debriefs and provide feedback for future improvements. Qualifications: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Organizational abilities and attention to detail. * Previous experience in event planning is a plus but not required. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team independently when necessary. We are a community of people that walk alongside foster children and their caretakers by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building and mentorship. Our solutions to the foster care crisis are the Love Box family support program and Dare to Dream youth mentor programs. At Charlotte Angels, we believe in the power of love and the value of friendship and positive role models for kids and youth in foster care. We want to connect people passionate about making a difference in the foster care community to our most vulnerable children and youth who have experienced neglect and abuse and the selfless parents who care for them.

Position Title: Director of Fundraising (Volunteer Board Member) Organization: Charlotte Angels Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid - Remote & In-Person as Needed) Reports to: Board President & Executive Director Commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours/month About Charlotte Angels Charlotte Angels is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. We are passionate about creating sustainable change in the foster care system through our programs, including Love Box and Dare to Dream. Position Summary The Director of Fundraising plays a critical role in helping Charlotte Angels grow and sustain its mission. This individual will lead the board’s efforts to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and support major giving campaigns and events. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Executive Director and Development Team to create an annual fundraising plan. Provide leadership and oversight for all fundraising activities, including events, campaigns, grants, and major donor cultivation. Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners. Help identify prospective grant opportunities and assist in writing or reviewing proposals as needed. Actively participate in the planning and promotion of fundraising events such as the Mom Prom and Glitter & Gold Sneaker Ball. Inspire board members and volunteers to engage in fundraising efforts and give personally. Monitor fundraising progress and report regularly to the board. Qualifications Passionate about the mission of Charlotte Angels and committed to improving the foster care experience. Previous experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and inspire donors and partners. Strong organizational and strategic thinking abilities. Comfortable making donation asks and mentoring others to do the same. Willingness to contribute personally and leverage personal/professional networks. Board Member Expectations Serve a minimum of one full term (2 years). Attend at least 75% of board meetings annually. Contribute personally at a level meaningful to you. Serve as an ambassador for Charlotte Angels in the community. Support and attend key fundraising events.
