Mission Statement

New Acropolis is an international non-profit organization founded in 1957 and present in over 50 countries worldwide. New Acropolis has been active in the Chicagoland area since 2005, and we are currently located in the Uptown neighborhood. We are a group of volunteers, dedicated to helping all people in the Chicagoland area to live more meaningful and thoughtful lives through classes in eastern and western philosophy, workshops, cultural events, and community service, among other things.

Our activities around the world:
Philosophical Education through courses, workshops, seminars, lectures, debates, annual celebration of World Philosophy Day, libraries, publication of books, magazines and research journals.

Cultural education through exhibitions, creative workshops, literary and music competitions, theatre groups, cultural tours, sports and martial arts, traditional festivals, fairs and conferences.

Volunteer opportunities include building centers of philosophical training, restoration of historic monuments, environmental education, cleaning of rivers, beaches and city centres, forest fire prevention campaigns, reforestation, campaigns for tolerance and solidarity, humanitarian aid, and disaster relief.
