Mission Statement

To understand the aims and values of our Organization ,one has to read my story. My name is Harim and I'm the director of the British Language Academy in Morocco.I grew up in a poor family but my love of English went beyond imagination. My dream was to meet a native speaker and see if the English we were taught was the real English that the world spoke or our Moroccan teachers were just teaching us some lies.Unfortunately this dream couldn't come true for a poor person like me who couldn't meet any natives. Now that I'm managing this project ,I want to make that dream come true to our kids and I'm very happy seeing this happen We aim to improve our students speaking skills through very short talks with our guests at the end of every lesson. Volunteers aren't expected to teach but just talk to our students and help them use the language .This language that will certainly open horizons to our students in the future and help them get jobs

Description

Our schools in Casablanca,Berrechid and El Jadida welcome you to Morocco! In our schools we ask you, our guests, to simply have short conversations with our students. We host native or fluent speakers of English in all our schools and French speakers only in Berrechid and El Jadida to give the opportunity to our learners to be in a comfortable environment to practice and build their confidence in speaking.
We offer the opportunity to our volunteers to explore the south half of the country once a month (Marrakech,Kasbat Ait Ben Haddou,Ouarzazate ,the Atlas Mountains , Toudgha gorges ,Merzouga dunes and Fes) We also offer a tour to the north half of the country (Rabat,Chefchouen (the blue city) ,Tangiers, and Assilah ).This is done in frequent, organized, cheap trips. Getting a chance to see the variety of Moroccan culture, and discover the real life of Moroccan families, customs and traditions.

Sunday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon our guests are free to travel around if they’d like. Wednesday afternoon through Sunday morning is when guests are needed the most except in El Jadida where we need volunteers all the week if they don’t go on those organized cheap tours
