Mission Statement

La Raza Community Resource Center (La Raza) serves as a bridge between newcomers and the City of San Francisco by providing immigration legal services, social services, and basic needs. Through our direct support and advocacy, we strive to ensure Latino and Indigenous immigrants can access the resources they need to thrive and realize their power. La Raza is a bilingual, multi-service, non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the social service, immigration, educational, and leadership development needs of low-income families and individuals.

Description

Of those we serve, 98% are Latine, 60% live in shared housing, 70% identify as female, 98% are Extremely Low-Income, and 99% identify Spanish as their primary language.

Our Family Resource Center (FRC) offers parents personal development opportunities, serving 20,000 families each year from our food pantry, completing 800 affordable housing applications, educating 400 parents on parenting, leadership, and voting rights, assisting 200 families a year with emergency financial assistance with service connection, and assisting 2000 families with emergency rental assistance totaling $9 Million since 2021.

Our Immigration Legal Services Center offers free Family-Based Affirmative and Deportation Defensive services. We reunify families by guiding them through the complexities of the immigration process. Each year we Naturalize 100 households, defend 100 families in court, renew 50 DACA applications, and help complete 300 immigration applications.
