Mission Statement
Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center’s mission is to transform the lives of youth and adults facing anxiety, depression, or discontent by sparking creativity, fostering learning, empowering individuals, and bringing people together through healing and creative art programs, classes and workshops. By teaching program participants to regulate their emotions and build self-confidence, Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center (ODGCAC) activates healing from the inside out and fosters a sense of calm through the storm. Or as our founder, Faith, likes to say, "We are kicking Anxiety's butt with creativity!"
Description
Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center was birthed out of a passion for helping others and after witnessing children struggle under the weight of mental health and trauma issues. Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center is a way to react to the negative outcomes plaguing many individuals with mental health challenges. Dawn and Faith Leonard envisioned the reality of the solution in a state of art center with targeted, innovative, and creative healing art services.
Our Daily Gnome Creative Arts Center provides daily, weekly, and monthly services and programs.
Goal #1 - Increase mental health acceptance and art exposure in communities and organizations throughout Chesapeake, Virginia
In 2022 we had over 800 children come through our doors with our various programs and activities. That was over 300 families helped from April 29,2022 to Dec 31,0222.
We continue to grow.
