Marketing Coordinator StandUp for Kids - San Diego was launched in 1990 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We work to provide basic needs, housing, mentoring support, care, and love to at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-24.We are looking for a Volunteer Director of Marketing to provide leadership in the planning and management of our marketing activities. The Director of Marketing will work towards our long-term strategic marketing goals and be responsible for the success of our marketing initiatives throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to donate time, resources, and talent to support our important mission. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will work with the Development Manager to: * Define marketing goals and strategies, with input from other members of the leadership team * Create and maintain a marketing calendar, as well as coordinate marketing events * Evaluate marketing effectiveness and report activities to the Executive Director every month * Work in conjunction with HQ to optimize national marketing initiatives * Create print materials for program use, including brochures, flyers, posters, giveaways, etc. * Assist in creating presentations for various community groups * Draft articles and press releases * Lead media campaigns throughout the year and work with special events coordinators to create collateral pieces to promote events (48 Hours; Forum/Homeless Youth Month, etc) * Manage a team of marketing volunteers (including interviews, supervision, tracking and reporting of volunteering hours) Qualifications: * Ability to plan and manage work independently * Superior verbal and written communication skills * Excellent organizational and planning skills * Strong sense of personal integrity * Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids * Some knowledge of Publisher or other software programs helpful * Marketing experience or desire to learn how to effectively market the organization and its services Job Type: * Volunteer position * Remote, with occasional in-person events and/or meetings (Covid-19 safety protocols apply) Time Commitment: * Minimum 2-3 hours per week, calendared projects and/or special events may require a few more hours (volunteers are responsible for tracking their hours and sending them to the Executive Director at the end of each month) * Monthly Team Meeting Additional Requirements: * Background check ($18 submission fee) * StandUp for Kids volunteers’ orientation Please use this online form to apply. OUTREACH COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description The Outreach Coordinator will support the Director of Outreach for StandUp For Kids San Diego on the following tasks: responsible for overseeing the Street Outreach Program to homeless youth and runaway teens in Orange County in an effort to ensure that every homeless youth in San Diego has access to services, hope and promise. The Director of Outreach reports directly to the Executive Director and supervises Outreach Team Leads and their Members. Specific R esponsibilities Provides direct supervision to all SO counselors, approving all assessments and service plans, ensuring program fidelity to best practices. Represents the program at various events, speaking engagements etc. Works closely with other community partners. Provides support on a host of practical program concerns (such as ensuring adherence to budget). Ensures that all program evaluation tools are properly implemented and that evaluation data is collected. Works with the Executive Director to develop the program around best practices. Provides coverage for on call 800# Other duties as assigned. Training and Experience A bachelor’s degree. A degree in Human Services is preferred. An established history of working with at-risk teens/families. At least 3 years of experience in management Knowledge and Abilities Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of people; effective planning and organization skills; proven ability to maintain good working relationships with a variety of people and groups; ability to work effectively as a team leader and team member; strong working knowledge and skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google documents. l As a leader: Attend leadership meetings, major events, and necessary trainings Communicate frequently with other members of the leadership team l In a nutshell: Increase visibility of youth homelessness without increasing the vulnerability of homeless youth l Increase StandUp For Kids' profile in the community, as well as online Establish and strengthen important partnerships with organizations, individuals and institutions to the benefit of the youths we serve (through increased organizational capacity, increased options/diversions for youth, and the meeting of common needs) Work with the director of Community Resource Development to know key contacts at, and network with, related organizations Attend meetings of other homeless and child advocacy groups Plan a homelessness summit with other organizations once per year Write articles for our newsletter that highlight advocacy issues Publish dates of local homelessness meetings/events on our online calendar Write guest articles in other agency's newsletters that highlight our work Work with the Director of Public Relations to write pieces and get coverage related to youth homelessness in Orange County l Use powers of democracy to improve the conditions of homeless youth Advocate for less punitive, more compassionate laws for homeless and at-risk youth Advocate for changes in related systemic laws Establish relationships with policymakers at local and state level, inform them of upcoming legislation, meet with them, and ask them to support our issues Establish a "StandUp For Kids Day" in Orange County through city resolution Develop a Homeless Youth Bill of Rights Perform 'direct actions’ with or independent of other community-mobilizing organizations. l Establish a knowledge base related to youth homelessness Understand the issues and who can best address them Conduct research and provide information on global developments, conferences, policies, issues and trends in youth homelessness Procure updated statistics and trends related to the number and circumstances of homeless youth in Orange County Find gaps or contradictions in our knowledge base and encourage remedies Research and compile state and local laws and ordinances related to homelessness and our work with such Collect, compile and distribute knowledge in unique ways (events, web portal, etc.) l Support volunteers/advocates through advocacy-specific training Conduct periodic training for volunteers on issues related to youth homelessness; invite knowledgeable speakers

Housing Resource Development Specialist (Volunteer) StandUp for Kids - San Diego was launched in 1990 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We are looking for a Volunteer Housing Resource Development Specialist to provide support in managing community resources in the area of youth and young adults housing. The Housing Resource Development Specialist will become the expert in housing opportunities and strategies. This is a great chance to donate time and talent to support our important mission. Community Resource Development Coordinator The Community Resource Development Coordinator supports the management of the efforts of developing continuing support from the local community. Initially this work is encompassed by the community survey. Afterwards it falls to the Director of Community Resource Development and his or her team to ensure that data collected during the survey is updated and correct. In general, the Director of Community Resource Development has general oversight for the local chapter’s relationship with active and potential community partners providing services to runaway and homeless youth. Larger scale community education and advocacy also falls within this area, and suggests coordination with the Directors of Public Relations, Marketing and Adult Education. General Responsibilities: o Coordinates all presentations and talks with civic groups; o Assists ED with Administrative support when necessary; o Interfaces with other social service providers to learn what services are available and to inform of the services offered by STANDUP FOR KIDS; o Develops collaborative relationships with other community agencies providing services to runaway, homeless and street-dependent youth; o Advocates on the local, regional and national level for the needs of street youth.
