Outreach Center Supervisors for StandUp for Kids - San Diego oversee the operations of the Outreach Center during Center hours of 5-8pm. We are in need of an experienced Center Supervisor for Saturday evenings. The Supervisor oversees Center Volunteers in providing services and resources to our youth in need, conducts intake on new youth visiting our center for the first time, coordinates Volunteer schedules to ensure sufficient trained staff are available, and interacts with and counsels our homeless youth. The Supervisors are also part of the local Leadership Team. Services offered at the Center include hot meals ; clothing, shoes and hygiene items; laundry and shower facilities; and counseling for our youth in need. Ideally we are looking for volunteers with experience in leadership roles in non-profit organizations for these roles. Training is provided.

Marketing Coordinator StandUp for Kids - San Diego was launched in 1990 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We work to provide basic needs, housing, mentoring support, care, and love to at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-24.We are looking for a Volunteer Director of Marketing to provide leadership in the planning and management of our marketing activities. The Director of Marketing will work towards our long-term strategic marketing goals and be responsible for the success of our marketing initiatives throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to donate time, resources, and talent to support our important mission. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will work with the Development Manager to: * Define marketing goals and strategies, with input from other members of the leadership team * Create and maintain a marketing calendar, as well as coordinate marketing events * Evaluate marketing effectiveness and report activities to the Executive Director every month * Work in conjunction with HQ to optimize national marketing initiatives * Create print materials for program use, including brochures, flyers, posters, giveaways, etc. * Assist in creating presentations for various community groups * Draft articles and press releases * Lead media campaigns throughout the year and work with special events coordinators to create collateral pieces to promote events (48 Hours; Forum/Homeless Youth Month, etc) * Manage a team of marketing volunteers (including interviews, supervision, tracking and reporting of volunteering hours) Qualifications: * Ability to plan and manage work independently * Superior verbal and written communication skills * Excellent organizational and planning skills * Strong sense of personal integrity * Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids * Some knowledge of Publisher or other software programs helpful * Marketing experience or desire to learn how to effectively market the organization and its services Job Type: * Volunteer position * Remote, with occasional in-person events and/or meetings (Covid-19 safety protocols apply) Time Commitment: * Minimum 2-3 hours per week, calendared projects and/or special events may require a few more hours (volunteers are responsible for tracking their hours and sending them to the Executive Director at the end of each month) * Monthly Team Meeting Additional Requirements: * Background check ($18 submission fee) * StandUp for Kids volunteers’ orientation Please use this online form to apply. The Director of Street Outreach for StandUp for Kids - San Diego supports our mission to end the cycle of youth homelessness by directing the Street Outreach program for San Diego (often the first line of contact with homeless youth) and leading a team of Street Outreach Volunteers, connecting with on-the-street kids and homeless youth in need of services. The Director of Street Outreach defines priorities for the Street Outreach program, assesses opportunities and develops plans to capitalize on them, including high impact locations and routes for connecting with on-the-street youth. He / she recruits, trains and oversees Street Outreach Volunteers in establishing a consistent and reliable presence at local transportation stops, libraries, parks and other areas where street youth may congregate. The Director of Street Outreach oversees the activities of Street Outreach Volunteers to provide street-based support to on-the-street kids and homeless youth, including outreach food packs, hygiene kits, and counseling. The Director of Street Outreach trains Street Outreach Volunteers to identify qualified referrals to the Outreach Center and provide overviews of the services that StandUp for Kids offers. Management experience is required; must have demonstrated effectiveness in working effectively with at risk individuals. Must have excellent leadership and communication skills with strong organization and planning skills. Must ensure that Street Outreach Volunteers optimize their safety at all times by following risk reduction training. Additional training is provided.

StandUp for Kids is looking for a Chapter Director to oversee operational and financial health of San Diego Chapter. The Chapter Director works collaboratively with National Staff and local volunteers to strategically carry out the mission to end the cycle of youth homelessness.
