Mission Statement

AHWI is a nonprofit organization that builds resources to help underprivileged aviation professionals learn about the importance of mental & physical health and well-being. A large number of ambitious and young aviation professionals don't have the necessary resources to take care of their mental health, nutrition, and well-being. AHWI and its team members are dedicating all their resources and time to ensure health awareness among aviation professionals. Their goal is to provide educational resources to members of the aviation industry and help address their well-being concerns.

Description

AHWI is a nonprofit organization that builds resources to help underprivileged aviation professionals learn about the importance of mental & physical health and well-being.

The main objective of our proposed project is to offer help to underprivileged pilots and aviation students with navigating the complexities of aviation mental health, nutrition, exercise, relaxation, and well-being over the course of rolling enrollment. We plan to achieve this through online courses and in-person classes. We would like to see measurable progress in 5-10 years and we'll specifically be looking at our key success indicators.

The Aviation Health and Wellbeing Institute was established in 2022 by founder Reyne O'Shaughnessy who had the vision to create new opportunities for aviation students. The Aviation Health and Wellbeing Institute currently operates both nationally and internationally and expects to help more than 300 students from diverse backgrounds in 2023. Our mission is to empower the next generation of aviators both physiologically, biologically, and socially to help them maximize their potential, and improve their quality of life. We are aware of the unique educational and social challenges that our aviation community faces on a daily basis and are committed to adapting our organization to meet its needs.
