Mission Statement
We envision a future where all families have what they need to live, grow, and thrive in San Francisco. In our vision, every child will reach their unique potential within a safe and joyful learning environment and every family will access a network of support that promotes well-being, opportunity, and community. Our mission is to empower families who live and work in San Francisco to transform their futures through evidence-based education and economic opportunities.
Description
Programs: Based on decades of experience and informed by research about the range of wraparound supports that strengthen families and children, FACES SF’s whole-family, whole-child model includes four interconnected program areas: early childhood development (ages 0-5), elementary-age enrichment (TK-6th grade), family support, and workforce development.
History: Family and Child Empowerment Services San Francisco (FACES SF) serves San Francisco’s most under-resourced children and families. We represent the combined legacies of Florence Crittenton Services and the Whitney Young Child Development Center - two longstanding San Francisco non-profits dedicated to providing quality childcare, job training, employment placement support, and wraparound services to support the whole family. We proudly continue to provide their critical services today.
Impact: To influence system-level change, we also collaborate and advocate alongside nonprofits, community members, SFUSD, and government agencies to build stronger, more equitable family support systems across San Francisco.
