Mission Statement

Our mission is in alignment with the vision of the Alzheimer's Association: to live in a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia. We donate our proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association TN Chapter in memory of Ben McCloud. We also support caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's by hosting a local support group.

Description

Ben's BBQ was founded after the loss of our father/grandfather/father-in-law to Alzheimer's. He was a healthy person who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in his 60's, and he passed at the age of 72. We started our non-profit in his honor so that we could raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association TN Chapter to support research, caregiver support and resources. Our goal is the in line with that of the Alzheimer's Association: to live in a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Our annual fundraiser, Ben's BBQ, is a family friendly event that brings the community together to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's. Our first year, we raised $10k; the second year, we raised $11.5k, and this year (our 3rd annual), we are aiming to raise $20k! The founders of this nonprofit are a husband and wife team and both also volunteer with the Association's TN Chapter. Josh is co-chair of the Board of Directors, and Erin is a support group facilitator. We are both passionate about this cause and hope to bring that same passion to others.
