We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our Fundraising and Grants team as an unpaid Fundraising intern. Papillon Academy is a global NGO providing free educational counseling and extracurricular instruction to girls from disprivileged backgrounds globally. Demonstrate Passion for Women's Educational Empowerment Embrace Diversity and Inclusion to Develop Potential Make a Positive Change in the World Deliver Stakeholder Value Exemplify Integrity in Our Methods and Mission Pursue Teamwork with a Shared Purpose What You Can Do/HR Intern Duties: The Intern will work with various members of the Papillon Academy team and might complete tasks related to any of the world regions. In addition, there may be opportunities for the Intern to support the other teams and Executive Managers. Examples of some of what you might participate in are as follows: Research and identify regional-focused viable funding opportunities. Work on the existing list of regional-focused funders (foundations), renew data, identify and add more opportunities. Research and list prominent educational organizations or women’s organizations in the region focused on young women empowerment (for future partnerships) Draft a generic background/contextual intro for proposals covering a) Papillon Academy’s work in the region, partners, projects, impact indicators, etc. and b) issues/challenges in the women educational ecosystem (could be general, or country-specific) Performance Standards Intern will be available for 20 hours weekly in the geography where s/he is based on scheduled days of work; and will provide a weekly review to supervisor of task status. The productivity measurements for the internship include: Completed tasks in a satisfactory manner within the deadlines agreed with respective Supervisor Worked on at least 3 projects regarding 3 different potential partners by the end of the internship Responded to emails/messages within 24 hours of receipt. Attended all check in calls scheduled with Founders and Supervisor What You Need/Skills and Qualifications Desired: Commitment to women’s educational empowerment Ongoing Bachelor or Graduate level studies Excellent writing and communications skills in English Demonstrable cross-cultural skills and problem-solving skills Excellent skills with standard software (MS Office), especially Excel and PowerPoint An adventurous mindset, and the willingness to try new things and to learn. Personal laptop computer, mobile phone, strong internet connection and data plan. Preferred: Academic background in business, economics, international development, international relations, public policy, communications, education, law or computer science Preferred: Ability to speak more than one language such as French, Hindi, Arabic, Swahili, Turkish, Spanish, Chinese, etc. Learning Goals Primary learning goal is to experience and contribute to the operations of a global NGO. The internship is based in the fundraising/business function butthe intern will be able to work with people based in the member development function, communications function, and administration function of the organization as well as the Executive Managers. Secondary learning goal is to gain greater knowledge about the challenge of women’s educational empowerment, and Papillon Academy’s method to achieve it through increasing free extracurricular education and education counselling opportunities to young women from disprivileged areas across the globe.
