Mission Statement

Midland’s mission is to promote personal achievement and foster independence for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by providing a range of innovative programs. We are committed to providing a diverse array of innovative and exceptional educational, employment and support services that are highly individualized, community based, and designed for the lifespan of individuals.

Description

Based in Central NJ, Midland is a NJDOE-approved, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization that provides a lifelong continuum of services to children, teenagers, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. We are unique in our ability to accommodate a range of disabilities, and are recognized as a leader in the delivery of services to individuals with the most challenging intellectual and developmental disabilities in Northern and Central New Jersey.

Midland focuses on meeting the academic, social, emotional, career, and life needs of the individuals in our care, offering:
  • Highly individualized attention with programming that is flexible and adaptable.
  • A dedicated, attentive, enthusiastic, and experienced faculty and staff.
  • A track record of helping our students and adults achieve positive outcomes. To some, these outcomes may be reaching their academic and social goals, to others it may be returning to a public school classroom, transitioning to competitive employment in their own community upon graduation, or living independently in one of our supervised residential homes.
