Hospice Volunteer Paloma Hospice & Palliative Care - Texas (San Antonio, Austin, Del Rio, Dallas, Sherman, Tyler) Volunteer Position (Unpaid) About Us: Paloma Hospice & Palliative Care provides compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families across Texas. We are currently seeking dedicated and dependable volunteers to join our team and bring companionship, comfort, and support to those facing life-limiting illness. Position Summary: Hospice volunteers spend time with patients and their families, offering emotional support, a friendly presence, and practical help during a sacred and sensitive time. Whether you're providing companionship at the bedside, running errands, or supporting our office or outreach efforts, your presence matters. Key Responsibilities: Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients Offer respite to caregivers by spending time with their loved one Assist with light household tasks or errands as needed Support administrative tasks or community outreach efforts Maintain communication with the Volunteer Coordinator Submit short visit notes and complete monthly online training What to Expect: All volunteers are guided through a supportive onboarding process, which includes: Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator Online application and training In-person orientation to help you get started TB skin test (provided by us) Introductory visit with your assigned patient Requirements: Compassionate, reliable, and good communication skills Ability to commit to regular volunteer hours (flexible scheduling) Willingness to complete required training and documentation Must be at least 18 years old Background check and TB test required Why Volunteer With Us?
