Mission Statement

Partners In Care Maryland (PIC) is a 501(c)3 community nonprofit helping older adults remain independent in their own homes and engaged in the community. We operate using an innovative time/service exchange model with values of reciprocity, social capital, and equality infused into the culture of the program. We engage people to use their time and talents to help themselves and each other with the myriad tasks of everyday living. Most people want to stay in the homes and communities they know and love. We help make this possible by providing transportation and handyman services, member care, advocacy, and social programs to support healthy, independent, active living.

Description

Ride Partners - Volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide kind, arm-in-arm rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other important errands.
Member Care - Volunteers visit neighbors in their homes to help with everyday tasks like completing paperwork or making appointments and other phone calls, help with small household chores or just a friendly visit.
Repairs with Care - Our handyman volunteers provide small repairs to help people maintain their homes for safe and independent living.
We have flexible and creative volunteer opportunities of all kinds. Participate a little or a lot. Meet new people, make friends, and help out in the community. Everyone has something to contribute and is valued for it.
