Serve guests a hot meal! Why: Serve LA provides an average of 1000 meals per week. These community meals occur Monday through Friday with breakfast from 10-11 am and dinner from 5-6 pm. Who: Serve LA is seeking the renewal of Los Angeles by guiding the marginalized from suffering to flourishing and equipping others to do the same in their own neighborhoods. We serve LA by providing meals, recovery, and holistic support to the unseen among us in the city. What's Expected: The community meal host position helps to plate food and or helps to serve our meals to our guests seated in the dining room. What's Required: Dress Code - Closed-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves, modest clothing you don't mind getting dirty, and an attitude ready to have fun! Hair Coverings - Hair coverings are required. Feel free to bring in your own hat or appropriate hair covering. We provide hairnets if you do not have a hair covering. Longer hair should be tied up. Have Questions or Need Accommodation? Prepare meals alongside the head chef to feed those experiencing homelessness. Why: Currently, 1 in 5 Angelinos are food insecure. This equates to roughly 1 million Los Angeles County residents who do not know where their next meal will come from. Help serve meals to hungry individuals. Who: ServeLA provides meals, recovery, and holistic support to the unseen among us in the city. Community meals occur Monday through Friday with breakfast from 10-11 am and dinner from 5-6 pm. Helps administer towels and toiletries to community members as they're ready to take a shower. Why: ServeLA seeks the renewal of LA by guiding the marginalized from suffering to flourishing and equipping others to do the same. Providing access to showers to those who may not have them available, brings dignity and support to some of the most marginalized in our city. Who: ServeLA provides meals, recovery, and holistic support to the unseen among us in the city. Serve LA provides an average of 1000 meals per week and access to hot showers to over 200 people per month. What to Expect: The shower attendant position helps manage the signup sheet and sanitize the shower between each use. The shower program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 am.
