Reporting to the Executive Director, the volunteer in this position is responsible for administrating the Affiliate's Family Selection and Support Program in accordance with Affiliate policies and procedures. The volunteer works (under the direction of Board of Directors, Executive Director and the Chairpersons of the Family Selection and Support Committees) with applicant and partner homeowner families through the application and selection process prior to and after families become accepted into the program including but not limited to: monitoring sweat equity activity, coordinating and conducting homeownership education classes, coaching the families during the closing process, mentoring families as they assume the responsibilities of homeownership, and offering continued family support and nurture. The volunteer also overseas homeowner incentive programs, informational sessions, and homeowner education. This is a five (5) hour per month time requirement.

The Construction Committee consists of several volunteer members who help coordinate the construction of safe, decent, affordable housing by overseeing the construction process of all HFHDC projects, supervising and leading on-site construction, including the construction site supervisors and crew leaders, as well as construction volunteers, creating a positive and encouraging work atmosphere, procuring construction materials through competitive bid process and assisting in the development of donations of professional labor and in-kind materials. Creating schedules and budgets for the entire scope of HFHDC projects. Planning for future construction cycles. Ensuring that safety guidelines are followed on-site and that adequate training is provided to construction team and daily volunteers. Holding the main responsibility for the delivery of homes/projects on time and within budget. Being responsible for seeing that homes are built in accordance with applicable building codes. Being skilled in detailed techniques and principles of construction, construction scheduling, procurement, budgeting, warranty program and continuous improvement. The Construction Committee also works with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the build schedule is up-to-date on build projects and what he/she needs and when.

Average commitment of 7 or more hours per month. Along with the expectations of a board member, the board secretary will record meeting minutes, share the meeting minutes with the other board members, and keep our digital files organized and updated. The board secretary is a board officer and may, at times, be subject to officer meetings or a high decision-making standard. Other officers include president, vice president, and treasurer.

Volunteer committee consisting of several members who report to the Communications Director and serve as volunteer leads for mission awareness and advocacy at events, working with our staff to ensure mission messaging and goals are met through events and day-to-day operations. Have a clear understanding of the organization's vision and mission. Develop a 60-second "elevator pitch" for our staff and board members to use when sharing about our organization to the public. Represent our organization at outreach events such as health fairs, home and garden shows and local expos. Assist with creating materials for fundraising events to highlight the difference donors make possible when they give to our organization. Serve as an ambassador for our organization throughout the community who encourages others to give back through donations or volunteering opportunities. Invite 10 or more friends to support our organization, share our organization's digital content on social media platforms, and turn your personal social media account(s) red for Giving Hearts Day in February each year.
