Mission Statement

We strive to educate and engage the community on the importance of mental health, while simultaneously breaking barriers that may hinder an individual from reaching their full potential. Our objective is to show the community that strength isn't based on resistance, but on overcoming obstacles. We want to build a tight-knit community by spreading awareness of mental health and helping members of the community enhance their life.

Description

Beautifully Authentic Moms(B.A.M) started as an organization solely focused on postpartum depression. This was because I believed that this was an issue that was blatantly ignored. However, I soon realized that just as hard it is to go through postpartum, motherhood is harder. Being a person of color is more difficult than that and being in poverty is the worst of them all. Our organization soon became the bridge that many people need to the resources that are available to them. We communicate with the community their needs, interest, and fears. We then take that information to the community resources so that they can better assist the communities that they set out to reach.
