Mission Statement

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center educates Northease Ohio children and the community at large through engaging classes, hands-on discovery, specialized planetarium programming and upclose wildlife experiences to inspire apprciation of and responsibility for our natural universe - one participant at a time.

Description

The Lake Erie Nature and Science Center is a private non-profit organization offering educational experiences for all ages, including school groups, scouts, children, adults and families. Native and exotic live animal exhibits (inside and out) include birds of prey, ocean, lake, pond, stream and river habitats, venomous snakes, and more. Open daily 10-5, free of charge. Public planetarium programs every other Saturday. 1/4 mile south of Lake Erie in the Huntington Reservation. 27 staff members, 200 volunteers.
