Black San Diego, Empowering Our Community is hosting the Spring S.T.E.A.M Resource and Career Fair for K-12 students and their families. There will be interactive activities and engaging exhibits for all ages at the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) event from 1 to 6 p.m. They will have passports that attendees get stamped for participating in the different activities. Once it is filled up, they will be able to receive food/drinks. Black San Diego, Empowering our Community hopes that the event will inspire children in their community to pursue careers in STEM and increase the number of Black STEM professionals. Volunteers will help with set up and break down of the event, directing and greeting guests, crowd control, monitoring rooms, and helping with the passport activity by stamping and accepting completed passports. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Attire: Wearing comfortable walking shoes is recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required. Bring: Reusable water bottle and snacks. Physical Ability: Volunteers should be able to lift up to 20lbs, stand and walk for the duration of their shift, and may need to walk up and down stairs multiple times. Accommodations can be made for individuals with physical limitations but tasks will be limited to attendee check-in and information tables.
