Mission Statement

The April Parker Foundation is a community-based non-profit organization that strives to uplift underserved BIPOC communities through culturally relevant, highly supportive services. We strive to impact individuals' lives and small businesses as a way to empower the community as a whole. Our mission is to removes barriers to equitable access to resource and supportive services in order to improve the health, social and economic outcomes of historically disinvested communities.

Description

We currently have the following programs.

  1. APCares - (Community Supportive Services) - provides equitable access to linkages through culturally relevant, highly supportive services that promote stability, security, and wellbeing in the lives of historically disinvested individuals. Program Activities: Outreach and Engagement, Rapid Rehousing, Homeless Prevention, Emergency Financial Relief, Social Case Management and Youth Scholarships (APScholars)
  2. APWorks- (Economic Development)providing equitable access to capital supporting and economic resiliency for minority-led organizations. Program Activities: Business Outreach, Business Skills Training, Coaching and Technical, and Youth & Adult Entrepreneurship training
  3. APHealth - (Health Equity)- provides gender, disability and culturally, affirming health education and health care navigation to historically disinvested communities. Program Activities: Community Outreach, Community Health Workers, Heath Navigation, Move50+ Senior’s program, and Surf Therapy
