Hospice Volunteers are a valuable member of our Hospice Care Team, and can make a difference in the lives of our patients and families. As a Volunteer, your tasks can include: Friendly visits and companionship to our patients and families, Respite care for our caregivers. Volunteer hours are flexible, and can include weekends. We suggest prospective volunteers wait a minimum of one year after the death of a loved one to volunteer. This waiting period will allow healing time and, if necessary, any adjustments to be made after a significant loss. If you have any questions, or want to apply, please contact Sharon Newbery, Volunteer Coordinator, at (706)860-7374, or sharon.newbery@heartlandhospice.com
