Mission Statement

A Positive Future for EU Citizens in the UK

Description

Settled is an independent charity set up in 2019 by European citizens living in the UK to provide free and trustworthy information, advice and support to others in the same position. Settled is accredited by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to provide immigration advice at OISC level 3.

We initially helped European citizens make applications to stay in the UK through the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS). Now that the deadline to apply has passed, our focus is on vulnerable people who are late applying to the EUSS, or who have had their application refused; joining family members; and people upgrading from pre-settled to settled status. We also help when people are struggling to prove their immigration status or access rights and services. These can include the right to travel, or to access welfare benefits or healthcare.

Since March 2022, Settled also now provides advice for Ukrainians coming to the UK as refugees, and hosts. We cover immigration rights and broader rights of housing, education, etc. (We do not assist in 'matching’ directly).

Settled’s small staff team coordinate a national network of 70+ volunteer advisers who speak more than 20 languages. Advice is free, multilingual, and OISC accredited. Our services and volunteers are accessible throughout the UK, and overseas, via phone, email, Facebook groups; and face-to-face support in certain locations, including for Roma people. We are committed to reaching those who most need help.
