Mission Statement

Building Our Lives Together As One (BOLTAO) is a metro Boston-based non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring community members to feel empowered, educated, and motivated to actively pursue community betterment. Our motto is: Through Healing, Transformation, and Empathy. Building Our Lives Together As One has a mission to provide programs that offer alternatives ways to dealing with violence, drugs, crime, gangs, bullying, and suicide for young people in our community.

Description

Two of our key programs

FocusOnEmpathy Workshop

This curriculum has a two-fold focus: 1) The intersection of mental, emotional, and physical health and 2) Building our capacity for empathy as a force for change in our world. The workshop uses exercises, games, meditation, guest speakers and discussion to build trust and community.

The workshop consists of 32 weeks. It has 4 parts listed below. Each part is made up of an 8 week 3 hour session curriculum of experiences and discussion.

Part 2: Feeling/Needs & Communication

Part 3: Anger & Transformation

Part 4: Empathy & Community Building
