As winter has hit the property hard, many helping hands are needed to assist with property ongoing year-round cleanup, Fixing Fences, fixing damaged structures, fallen trees, trail cleanup, burn pile prep, road and trail repairs, signage and more! We also need help making a map of the 72-acre property than can be turned into a digital map for guests. We also invite anyone with an animal sciences interest or background for equine and livestock care for the rescue animals here. These needs are ongoing. We are open to individuals or teams. The property is also a private campground, so you can stay and enjoy the peacefulness of the land and the animals who can't ever get enough attention :) Please note primary location is at 40580 Ruth Hill Road, Yokuts Valley, CA 93675 which is 40 minutes from Fresno State and help is needed 7 days a week. Fresno and Sanger projects are scheduled events only.

Do you love animals and nature? Do you want to make a difference in the world? Do you have a passion for ikigai, the Japanese concept of finding your purpose in life? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be the perfect fit for Camp ikigai Animal Sanctuary 501c3, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating farm animals in need. Camp ikigai is looking for workcampers who can help with various tasks, such as general campground duties, animal care, communal gardening, maintenance, social media, fundraising, and more. In exchange, you will receive a free RV drydock site (no hookups), access to fresh produce (once the communal garden is in) from our organic garden food forest, and the opportunity to interact with our amazing animals and supporters. You will also get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Nevada foothills, where you can hike, bike, kayak, or just relax and soak in the views. Camp ikigai is located near SEKI Sequoia Kings Canyon National Parks in Fresno County, California, where you can find plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options! We are looking for workcampers who can commit to a minimum of 3 months. You will be expected to work 20 hours per week, with flexible schedules and days off. You must have your own RV, Van, Skoolie, Tent etc. and follow our rules and policies for the property. You must also love animals! Camp ikigai Animal Sanctuary 501c3 is more than just a place to work and live. It is a place to find your ikigai, your reason for being. Come and discover yours with us! This will be a team with shared responsibilities.
